The Return Of Phase III by ShotgunDude The Return Of Phase III by ShotgunDude
The most recent videos I've seen of Amtrak 145 had her hauling long-distance trains consisting of a Phase V P42DC helper, a Viewliner II baggage car, and a line of Superliner cars. It's hard for me to keep track of all those Phase V units, so I just chose to feature Amtrak 201 as Amtrak 145's helper in this picture to reference good ol' Amtrak 801, which I've made artwork of, last year. And like most of my hand-drawn artwork, I drew and colored this at school, and my iPhone 5C is never able to connect to the school's internet, so I wasn't able to research any videos or photos of Amtrak 145's recent events to see what unit was helping her.

Since Amtrak started purchasing those brand new Viewliner II cars and painting them all in a slightly modernized version of the Phase III livery, Heritage units, like #145, were no longer the only units left to wear the Phase III livery. Amtrak is now regularly using the Phase III livery on their new baggage cars, like they did from the 1980's to the early 2000's. Amtrak basically now uses the Phase III, IVb, and V liveries all at the same time. And Amtrak's Phase III Heritage units, like #145, go beautifully with their new Viewliner II cars.

I really love how this turned out. I think this is one of the best train pictures I've ever made, since its drawn and colored on paper, has a decent landscape, and has a nice view of one of my all-time favorite locomotives leading a long-distance Amtrak train with an amazing consist.
